Challenge Ganon
So here we are after completing 3 Light world dungeon and 8 Dark world dungeon. The climax of the game. Make sure all your bottles are filled with Blue Potions as Rupees won't be of use after this duel. Furthermore you absolutely need the Silver Arrows or else you cannot stun Ganon in the second half of the battle. Fall down the gap to find Ganon waiting here for you.
He commends on your ability to stay alive through all the things he has been put through, but alas the King of Evil will have to put an end to this himself. And so the battle commences.
Initially, Ganon only attacks using his flying trident and warping around the room. With the Red Mail the trident does 2 hearts damage which is quite a lot considering your defense level.
After 8 hits with the Golden Sword the King of Evil introduces a new technique. He creates a circle of fireballs around him, which stretch out and then return to him. After that the fire balls turn into invincible fire bats which home in on you. Dodge them as well as you can as these attacks cause 2 hearts damage per hit!
Upon the 16th hit, Ganon will start stomping down the edges of the platforms with a new attack. He starts out with the same fireballs, but this time it is a single larger bat which flies around in a spiral around him. Get as far away as possible (not on the edge tiles however) as you get paralyzed by this attack.
If you fall down such an edge you have to start the battle all over again, just like the Moldorm so whatever you do, do get to too close to the edge. In the end he removes all four borders before going into the next phase.
Here he warns you about his technique of Darkness. Using this he becomes invisible when the torches are out, so bring forth the Fire Rod and ignite both torches to see Ganon again. The dark wizard can't stand this bright light and so he covers his eyes for a moment.
Hit him with the Golden Sword to freeze him momentarily turning him blue! Aim with the bow and fire an arrow or two. Now is the time to switch to the Silver Arrows. This is the only way to cause damage on him.
After 5 Silver Arrows Ganon has had enough pain and leaves the building in a big explosion.
The Epilogue
Now that Ganon has left a doorway appears in the northern wall, walk through it to find the chamber of the Triforce. The essence of the Triforce welcomes Link and tells him a story about what happened to the Golden Land and about Ganon's wish.
Ganon wanted to conquer the world and so the Golden Land turned dark. After building up his power, Ganon planned to go on to the Light World to fulfill his wish. But now that Ganon has been destroyed, his Dark World vanishes. The Triforce awaits a new master and so Link is granted to make a wish by touching the Triforce and making a wish deep in his heart.
Having the noble blood of the Knights of Hyrule in his veins Link does the right thing and everything is restored to normal. In the following scenes the King returns, just as Sahasrahla, his uncle, the Flute-boy and all the others. Even the bully makes a friend.
The last scene shows Link putting the Master Sword back into its pedestal at the end of the Lost Woods. Now having completed its labors the Master Sword can rest once again.
The staff credits roll by showing all the creators of this wonderful game.
The very last screen shows how many times you saved your game during the quest of each of the dungeons. Some people are very proud of getting Total Games Played 000 (or Total Lives Used on the GBA version), but in all the experience of playing the game itself is making it worthwhile.
That's it. There's nothing more to be done... Perhaps you like to replay the game from the beginning. There's however no special 2nd quest in this game so entering "Zelda" as your name won't help out here.
