Link Defeats Ganon

Link dropped down into the darkness of the Pyramid of Power, and when he hit the floor the inside lit up. He was in an arena, surrounded by images of Ganon and the Triforce, and Ganon, the Evil King of Darkness himself, stood a short distance away. In a booming voice, Ganon called to Link,

I never imagined a boy like you could give me so much trouble. It's unbelievable that you defeated my alter ego, Agahnim the Dark Wizard, twice! But I will never give you the Triforce. I will destroy you and make my wish to conquer both Light and Dark Worlds come true without delay.

Ganon

The battle for the Triforce began, and Ganon made the first move, throwing his trident at Link. Link dodged it and tried to strike at Ganon, but he used magic to move away quickly, a kind of shadow technique. By now the trident had done a full loop and came back into Ganon's hands, and Link struck at Ganon with his golden sword. Link rained blows on Ganon from his Golden Sword, until Ganon began making balls of fire circle around him. These balls circled out in a wider radius, but Link drew back, and the circles returned to Ganon. One by one, the balls of fire turned into fiery bats and flew at Link, and he couldn't dodge them all. When they were all gone Ganon moved quickly to avoid being hit and started to make more balls of fire, but by now Link was right next to him hitting him with his sword.

After taking more damage, Ganon again changed techniques. He made one big fire bat, which spiraled around the room leaving trails of fire behind it. Meanwhile Ganon teleported around, and Link had to wait for Ganon to sit still making a bat before he could hit him. Each time Ganon was hit, he leaped into the air and came crashing down, and the ground along one side of the arena crumbled and disappeared, leaving a pit for Link to fall into. When all sides of the arena had been destroyed, Ganon told Link,

You are doing well, lad. But can you break through this secret technique of Darkness? En Garde!

The two torches that had lit up the arena suddenly blew out, and the room was lit only by the light streaming in from above. Ganon was invisible in the partial darkness, and teleported around the room shooting fire bats directly at Link. Link lit both torches with his Fire Rod to make Ganon visible, but the Evil King was guarding himself behind his cape. Ganon teleported and, while raising his arms to make a fire bat, was struck head on by Link's sword. He turned an icy blue, stunned by the strength of the sword. Link remembered the weapon that was needed to defeat Ganon: the Silver Arrows. He strung his bow and let one fly, and watched as the arrow pierced to the core of Ganon's magical defenses. Link repeated this process three more times, and then Ganon, the King of Darkness, was destroyed. A staircase appeared, and Link entered a holy and sacred place, the resting place of the Triforce. Link heard a voice, and realized that it was the Triforce:

Welcome Link... I am the Essence Of The Triforce.

The Triforce will grant the wishes in the heart and mind of the person who touches it. If a person with a good heart touches it, it will make his good wishes come true... If an evil-hearted person touches it, it grants his evil wishes. The stronger the wish, the more powerful the Triforce's expression of that wish.

Ganon's wish was to conquer the world. That wish changed the Golden Land to the Dark World. Ganon was building up his power here so he could conquer the Light World and make his wish come completely true.

But now, you have totally destroyed Ganon. His Dark World will vanish.

The Triforce is waiting for a new owner. Its Golden Power is in your hands...

Now, touch it with a wish in your heart.

The Master Sword

Link had a good heart, of course, and as long as he held the Triforce it granted his good wishes. The king returned to his throne and the descendents of the sages no longer had to live in fear. Sahasrahla returned home to Kakariko Village, and Link's uncle recovered from his injuries. The flute boy came back to life and Venus, Queen of Faeries, was given back her true beauty. The bug-catching kid recovered from his illness and, most importantly of all, the Master Sword slept in the Lost Woods again, forever.
