Well I always thought (based on the trailer) that its the green stuff that makes the ghosts appear? but maybe it is the road you have to follow?

they might be like the new poes and i think that they reveled them selfs when they wanted to atack and the green stuff is just some gostly oder or some wird ectoplasmic gass

Spooks seem to have been relocated to other parts of the castle. No scent trail in the sewers either. Beta screens make me laugh.
