But do you see the 'rope' around his neck? If he's not a scarecrow, what is he? Is it even a he?
.Zelda.

There's no rope. Human error. The "rope" is a part of the hauberk visible from under the crest, or do you mean the necklace chain there?

This guy looks interesting. Hey you're right, the spear has a foot. Does it move on it's own when the guard lets go of it??? Hm....

Let me say this guy is human, for sure, look at the skin on his fist. The floating sword is there just to show what is inside. By seeing the unstraight lines and stuff one can tell that this is a pretty rough character sketch. i'm also guessing that his spear and shield are alive somehow, since his shield seems to have eyes and a mouth(two holes, horizontal line under triforce).

"human" you say? Come to think of it, maybe he is. Depending on the status of this character within the Hyrulean society (foot soldier or royal guard) he could be either human or hylian.
Knight is a misnomer here. He don't look like no Lancelot to me. So I would surmise the character is your generic Hyrulean soldier.

Seems that even Hyrule Kingdom is taking a new angle. The main piece of heraldry is the same, but everything else has changed a bit. One doesn't usually associate GREEN as a royal color. Or by medieval standards "cool", for that matter. One might question about this even being the same kingdom as in OoT. I mean, come on... Draw comparisons between this here dude and the OoT hyrule knight. Some many details give away cultural differences.

actually i think the reason he does not have a shield in his hand is because this is just a picture of the Hyrulian Guard, and his accsesories.

These guys are great! Go into town as a wolf, and you got a dozen of them pointing spears at you while trembling like jello.
One weird feature with their swords: they're supposed to be normal double-edged swords, but the crossbar would better fit on a backsword. Meaning only one edge of the blade is supposed to cut.

I find the spear and shield's 'feet' very amusing.

I didn't notice that feature anywhere on the in-game shields.
